The itinerary includes three iconic locations: Khor Virap Monastery - you will visit the monastery-fortress at the foot of the biblical Mount Ararat. It offers the most classic and breathtaking view of the mountain. This is the site where Armenian Christianity began. Areni Village - we will travel to Armenia's premier wine region. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit a local winery, learn about Armenian winemaking traditions, and, of course, taste the local wines. Noravank Monastery - you will discover a masterpiece of medieval architecture, nestled in a stunning gorge with sheer, red cliffs. It is one of the most beautiful and photogenic places in Armenia.

The tour to Khor Virap and Noravank is a full-day experience. The total duration is 7-8 hours, which allows for a comfortable pace to visit all locations. The round-trip distance by car from Yerevan is approximately 260 km (about 160 miles).

The price for this private trip starts from 45,000 AMD and depends on the selected vehicle (sedan, SUV, minivan). Included in the price: transfer from any point in Yerevan and back, a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle with a professional driver, bottled water, short photo stops along the route. Paid Separately: Wine Tasting in Areni - a standard tasting set is paid for on-site (the cost is typically low). Entrance Tickets - admission to Khor Virap and Noravank monasteries is free. However, if you wish to visit the Areni-1 Cave, the ticket must be purchased separately. Meals and guide services (a guide is available upon your request). The starting price is for a sedan and the whole vehicle with driver, not per person. Guide services cost extra for every vehicle category. Passenger insurance is not included in the tour price.

You can choose a tasting set to your liking directly at the winery and pay on the spot. This also ensures that guests who do not drink wine do not overpay for the service.

The winery in Areni offers a wide range of wines, from classic dry wines made from the endemic "Areni" grape to sweet pomegranate and other fruit wines. Prices here are generally lower than in Yerevan's shops.

Khor Virap Monastery offers the best panoramic view of Mount Ararat in all of Armenia. On a clear day, the mountain is perfectly visible. Additionally, visitors have the unique opportunity to descend a narrow ladder into the underground dungeon where St. Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 13 years.

The standard itinerary does not always include a visit to the Areni-1 Cave ("Bird's Cave") in order to allow more time for the main sites. However, since this is a private tour, we can add this stop to your itinerary upon request. Just let us know in advance. The entrance fee for the cave, where the world's oldest winery (over 6,000 years old) was found, is paid separately.

Yes, we will definitely make a stop for lunch. There are several excellent restaurants near Noravank Monastery, including a cozy café right in the gorge. Here, you can try traditional Armenian dishes like tolma, kyufta, or khorovats (barbecue) while enjoying the views of the red cliffs.
