Etchmiadzin (officially - Vagharshapat) is the residence of the Catholicos, the head of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Etchmiadzin Cathedral is considered the world's first Christian temple, built in 301-303 AD after Armenia adopted Christianity as a state religion. This place holds immense significance for all Armenians and is a center of pilgrimage.

Saghmosavank and Hovhannavank monasteries are located on the edge of the picturesque Kasakh River gorge. Their uniqueness lies in the fact that they literally "hang" over the abyss, creating unforgettable views. On a clear day, a stunning panorama of Mount Ararat opens up from here. The architecture of the monasteries is harmoniously integrated into the dramatic landscape of the gorge.

Zvartnots Temple is now an archaeological complex - majestic ruins of a 7th-century early Christian temple. Although you cannot enter the temple itself (only the foundation and columns remain), you can walk around the archaeological site, see a reconstruction of the temple in the museum, and enjoy views of Ararat. This site is listed as UNESCO World Heritage.

Yes, modest clothing is recommended when visiting active churches and monasteries.
